Aren't all DJ companies and services basically the same?

-No.  They vary greatly in size, performance style, and quality of services offered. Probably the most important factor in picking a DJ is matching the DJ company’s style with that of your own and how you envision your wedding reception to flow. Also, most do not have the production capabilities of Preferred Weddings (PW). We have the equipment and servicing power to transform your venue into your dream wedding!

Whatever size or style of company you choose, make sure the DJ has the experience. The best way to do this is to make sure you can meet with your performer or contact at  least three references. This way, you can see if their personality and style match your vision and expectations.

-We inspire and we keep up on all the latest trends.  We are passionate about what we do and this is all we do, full time, everyday for nearly two decades.  That combined with our experience, equipment inventory and servicing power, makes us the best choice for your wedding reception.

By design, we are a focused company that pays close attention to detail and offers extremely personalized service that is organic in nature. We believe every wedding reception is different, in its own special way.

Why are the prices between some companies so different?

-Most aren’t companies to begin with, they are independent operators or weekend warriors that DJ as a hobby.  Don’t judge value on price alone!  It’s a bit cliché, but you get what you pay for.  Talent differs from company to company, as do services and packages.

-Yes, of course.

What package should I get?

-That depends on the theme and type of atmosphere you want to create. Factor in the approximate attendance you wish to achieve versus your expectations of what you currently have. Think about the size of the venue, the ceiling height, and room logistics. One of our representatives will be more than happy to assist you in choosing the right package by meeting with you at your location.

What kind of customer service can I expect?

-Prompt. We take great pride in working with our newlyweds before, during, and after their event to ensure it goes exactly as planned. We are a full-time operation and are available to you as a resource throughout the entire planning process, and we will go the extra mile on the day of your event to make sure you and your guests have a great time. We want everything to be trouble-free.

What type of equipment do you use?

-For sound reinforcement, we use equipment manufactured by JBL, EAW, QSC, Renkus-Heinz, Meyer Sound, KS Audio, Rane, Allen & Health, Crown, and Shure. Our lighting and trussing are manufacture by Elation, Coemar, Thomas Engineering, Tomcat, Martin, and High End Systems.  Many of our other production items are purchased locally.

Do you use CDs or MP3s?

-We use a combination of both. We bring CD libraries to our events as well as computers. The computer is a great tool that allows us to bring our entire music library to handle unexpected and last-minute requests or to quickly locate a song. All of our MP3s are encoded from the original CD at a high bit rate to ensure a quality recording. You will not notice a difference between the two formats. The CDs are there for reliability. If the computer crashes unexpectedly, we would have everything we would need on CD.

Do you have insurance?

-Yes, we carry an insurance policy and can provide you with one upon request at no charge. However, if you require to be additionally insured on our policy, we charge a $50.00 administrative fee.

Can we pick what music gets played?

-Absolutely. Put your own “favorite list” together from scratch, of if you need help, we offer two reference guides. For the newest and latest music, we have our Top 50 Hits list. If you want a list of our classic hits collection that includes all genres from the ’50s through early 2000 and wedding standards, please e-mail us, and we will send it to you as a PDF file.

What is your team uniform?

-It’s your choice, tuxedo or all black.  For casual weddings, unless you specify otherwise, we typically dress business casual.  For themed weddings, please let us know how we should be attired.

When does your crew set up?

-Depending on how elaborate a setup you order, this can take anywhere from one to eight hours or more. Basic DJ setup takes 30 minutes. Lighting, trussing, and staging can add extra time.

What if the DJ becomes unavailable or isn't with your company on my wedding date?

-With your approval, we will substitute a DJ who is just as talented and has a similar style to your original scheduled DJ.  All of our DJs work through the ranks of our company and trained exactly the same way under the careful eye of our talent manager.

How do we reserve your service(s)?

-To book, call or e-mail PW with your event date, times, event address, and other pertinent information. Once your event is booked, we will send you confirmation. A minimum 50% deposit is required initially.

How do we submit our information and the wedding questionnaire?

-All of your wedding reception planning forms and music request lists can be completed at your convenience and e-mailed or faxed to 714-680-3983. We will ask you to have all of your event information finalized one month prior to your wedding date.
